Both technologies produce a large-format video wall. The decision that actually matters is which one fits your room, your viewing distance and your budget β€” not which one looks more impressive in a spec sheet.

What’s actually different

An LCD video wall is a grid of individual flat-panel screens tiled together, with a thin bezel visible at each join. Direct-view LED (DV-LED) builds the image from thousands of individual LED modules with no bezels at all, giving a genuinely seamless picture.

That seamlessness is the whole reason DV-LED costs more per square metre. You’re paying for a fundamentally different manufacturing process, not a marginally better screen.

Where each one wins

LCD wins on cost and is more than sharp enough at viewing distances under 3–4 metres β€” the range that covers most receptions, meeting rooms and control room desks. Direct-view LED earns its premium at longer viewing distances, larger sizes, or where a visible bezel genuinely isn’t acceptable β€” a brand wall behind reception, a large control room where operators sit further back, or anywhere the wall needs to flex to non-standard shapes and sizes.
