No — and we won’t tell you it does. The duty to comply sits with your premises’ responsible person, and Martyn’s Law is not yet in force (implementation runs to at least Spring 2027). What we do is make sure the AV and IT infrastructure your procedures depend on — screens, speakers, network — can actually carry the message when it matters. Your formal risk assessment and staff procedures need a different specialist.
A 12-question, 2-minute self-assessment we built specifically for this — it checks whether your existing screens, speakers and network could deliver evacuation, invacuation and lockdown messaging zone by zone, or whether all they can currently do is sound a generic alarm. No obligation, and it tells you honestly if you’re already in reasonable shape.
Most premises already have some combination of digital signage, PA or network infrastructure in place for everyday use — reception screens, corridor displays, a paging system. In a lot of cases the assessment finds that existing kit can be reconfigured to carry emergency messaging, which is significantly cheaper than a new system. We’ll tell you honestly which is the case before recommending anything.
Martyn’s Law applies to premises where 200 or more people (including staff) may reasonably be expected to be present at the same time — Standard Duty from 200–799, Enhanced Duty from 800+.
