Modern Slavery Statement

Introduction

This statement sets out the steps that Efficient Infrastructure Solutions (EIS) has taken, and is continuing to take, to make sure that modern slavery or human trafficking is not taking place within our business or supply chain.

Modern slavery encompasses slavery, servitude, human trafficking and forced labour. EIS has a zero tolerance approach to any form of modern slavery. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity and transparency in all business dealings, and to putting effective systems and controls in place to safeguard against any form of modern slavery taking place within the business or our supply chain.

About the Organisation

EIS provides IT and AV professional services to public and private sector clients throughout the UK and Ireland.

Our policies on slavery and human trafficking

EIS is aware of our responsibilities towards our clients, partners, employees and suppliers. We expect all suppliers to EIS to adhere to the same ethical principles, and we’re committed to ensuring there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business.

All awarded suppliers sign up to our terms and conditions of contract, which contain a provision around Good Industry Practice to ensure each supplier’s commitment to anti-slavery and human trafficking in their supply chains, and that they conduct their business consistent with our anti-slavery policy. We operate a number of internal policies to ensure we conduct business ethically and transparently:

1. Recruitment policy — a robust recruitment policy, including right-to-work checks for all directly employed staff and subcontractors, to safeguard against human trafficking or forced labour.
2. Equal opportunities — controls to protect staff from poor treatment or exploitation, including fair pay, fair terms and conditions, and access to training and development.
3. Safeguarding policies — clear guidance so employees know how to raise safeguarding concerns about colleagues, service recipients, or practices within our business or supply chain.
4. Whistleblowing policy — so all employees know they can raise concerns without fear of reprisal.
5. Standards of business code of conduct — see our full Code of Conduct, which explains how we expect employees and suppliers to act.

Our approach to procurement and our supply chain includes:

• Careful supplier selection through robust selection criteria and processes
• Requiring main contractors to provide sub-contractor details so we can check credentials
• Randomly requesting supply chain details from main contractors
• Including a human rights clause in invitation-to-tender documents
• A standard Supplier Selection Questionnaire that includes a Modern Slavery section

Training

Advice and training on modern slavery and human trafficking is available to staff, and covered as part of compulsory staff induction training. We continue to look at ways to increase awareness across the organisation.
