What you need to know
- The encoder is powered by PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at Type 2, Class 4), so the network switch port needs to supply it. Extron states that power priority between PoE and line power is configurable.
- The encoder needs a decoder on the same network. Extron lists NAV 1 Gbps copper scaling decoders such as the NAV SD 101 as pairing options.
- AV over IP depends on the network. Extron specifies multicast UDP transport and a 1 Gbps copper link, with a maximum cable run of 100 m.
- Extron states that the NAV E 121 is configured through the endpoint or the NAVigator browser interface.
Frequently asked questions
What video can the NAV E 121 encoder carry?
Extron states up to 4K at 60 Hz with 4:4:4 chroma sampling, using HDMI 2.0 input with 8 or 10 bit colour.
How is the encoder powered?
By PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at Type 2, Class 4) over its Ethernet connection. Line power is also supported, with configurable power priority.
How far can it be from the decoder?
Extron specifies a maximum cable run of 100 m over Cat 5e, 6, 6a or 7 copper.
Can the encoder be rack mounted?
It is quarter rack width. Extron states that four units fit a single 1U RSB 126 shelf mount.
