How a demo in East Kilbride ended with an enterprise Microsoft Teams Room fit-out in the City of London — 400 miles from our base, delivered on time and on budget with no sub-contractors.
NTT DATA Business Solutions Ltd is part of NTT Group, one of the world’s largest IT service providers, headquartered in Japan with UK operations spanning Glasgow, London and beyond. By mid-2025 the boardroom at its City of London office was running a Surface Hub that had reached end of life for software updates — used for client meetings, executive sessions and international collaboration.
The replacement had to integrate properly with Microsoft Teams and perform to enterprise standard. The brief required a system that would:
The boardroom viewed from the display wall — a long, narrow room where a single front-facing camera would struggle to pick out whoever is speaking, especially for anyone joining remotely.
The project started with a conversation between EIS and NTT’s Glasgow-based IT Support Team Lead. The first meeting was held in the EIS Demo Suite in East Kilbride, where NTT could see a working Microsoft Teams Room platform running before committing to anything.
Surveying a boardroom 400 miles away was then solved by collaboration rather than travel: NTT live-streamed the London boardroom so our engineers could survey it remotely and design against the real space, its real dimensions and its real sightlines. From that survey, EIS built a range of camera configurations — each with its own coverage profile, cost and trade-offs — rather than arriving with a single specified solution.
That gave NTT the information to make a decision rather than simply accept a recommendation. NTT chose the highest specification of the options presented, and the configuration was approved through NTT Global in September 2025, a process requiring executive sign-off and global hardware authorisation. Once approved, EIS issued a full implementation road map setting out every stage through to handover.

EIS designed, supplied, installed and commissioned a complete Microsoft Teams Room solution for NTT’s London boardroom. All equipment was sourced, staged and configured from EIS’s 6,300 sq ft bonded warehouse in East Kilbride before dispatch to London.
A dedicated Microsoft Teams Rooms compute unit with a table-top touch controller provides the processing core.
Biamp large room processing handles echo cancellation and voice pickup, so anyone joining remotely hears every seat at the table clearly.
A multi-camera Huddly configuration covers the boardroom with no dead zones.
An interactive display carries collaboration and presentation content, with a compact secondary display alongside it.

The building closes at 17:30. NTT’s IT Infrastructure Manager arranged temporary access passes for the EIS team and remained on site beyond building hours so installation could proceed without interruption.
The system was verified, tested and handed over in the same visit, with no return trip needed to complete commissioning. Installation was completed in the week commencing 20 October 2025, on time and on budget, 400 miles from base.

The London boardroom project gave EIS an established working relationship with NTT in the UK, with further work already in prospect:
